Another year has come and gone, and with the beginning of the fresh decade comes the beginning of countless resolutions. The famous midnight strike of December 31st never seems to get old in the souls of new beginnings and finished habits. Every year, on the first hour of the first day, people begin to storm their daily lives with better practices. It seems that these self made promises always appear to be the same goals: eat better, exercise more, work harder, stop biting your nails and the list goes on. However I wonder how many people, when deciding what new leaf they should turn over in the New Year, ask themselves “am I better today than yesterday?”
It is not always the tangible results that matter the most, or the ones you can see, better yet, that have to do with yourself. People are always saying “it’s the thought that counts,” but how many people actually take that in, actually listen to what is being said? New Year’s resolutions are fun, healthy, and traditional, but should they stop at that? Why not think big, start small, and change? Bring miracles, hope, faith, and happiest to your life and others, not just apples and a scale. Make each year count, for after all, they are n1u2m3b4e5r6e7d.
